I'm Getting Old

Dear Family and Friends,
This week was a pretty good one! For the first time on my mission I told someone how long I was out and they said, "Oh! You're about ready to go home then!” No... I still have 7 months! That's over 200 days! I'm never going to go home!  Haha! The thought of going home is kind of a scary one for me right now... Anyway, on with the week.
We went over to the Sol's to teach their daughter again on Monday. Those are always pretty entertaining lessons. We went over the ten commandments with them and taught them some hand gestures to help them remember all of them. Like with commandment five we told them how to say mom and dad in sign language which is having all of your fingers out and touching your forehead or your chin and pulling it away, the commandment being honor thy father and thy mother. We went back yesterday and they still had them all memorized! It was pretty impressive! I love teaching their daughter because the entire family participates and all of them are active in the church, so they know all the answers. It's super easy to teach them. Their daughter will be baptized this upcoming Saturday so that'll be super awesome. I'm excited for that.
Later in the week we also met with a lady named Amy. I don't know if I mentioned her in my last email or not.  We went over with Brother Behrman and taught her about the Restoration. It went well and she understood all of it. She said it all made sense. The thing she likes the most about the Church is that we teach about families and we're a religion that is centered around the family. She really likes that.
Everything else that was supposed to happen this week fell through. It's pretty sad when that happens. Some weeks we teach about ten lessons, but this week it just didn't happen. For some reason everyone cancelled or rescheduled with us. Hopefully next week is a little bit better.
I went to the neurologist this week also and he took a look at my MRI. He said nothing abnormal showed up on it, so I won't be dying any time soon. That's relieving! Haha!  I wasn't too worried about it, but you never know. He gave me some pills that are supposed to help. I've been taking them for about a week now and pretty much nothing has happened, but next week I'll be getting a higher dosage to see if that helps any. He also gave me a super powerful anti-inflammatory that should temporarily relieve pain. That stuff works for a while, but only for about two hours and I'm not supposed to take any more than two a day, so I only take it when I'm really feeling miserable. A month from now I'll be going back to see if there's any improvement and to check and see if there's anything else he can do for me. Hopefully the higher dosage on the pill will help out.  I'll know within about three weeks if that will work for me.
Elder Edwards is great and we get along pretty well. He saw one of my bull whips I've made and wanted to learn how to crack one. He figured it out. After he learned that he wanted to make one, so I'm onto round four of teaching people how to make a bullwhip! I'll go through phases where I'll absolutely hate the thought of making another one and then at other times I'll love it. Fortunately for him it's been about five months since I made one, so I agreed to show him. He finished his in a week flat! It looks pretty good! I'm making one too and I'm naming it Ronald after the McDonald’s clown. It's red and yellow. I'll probably be done with it in a couple of weeks, so when it's done, I'll send a photo of it! Not much else really happened this week.

Love, Elder Mullins
