Dear family and friends,
This week was pretty good! Elder Edwards and I had a ton
of success compared to the past in this area! We got three new investigators!
And our zone met its goal of 80 new investigators for the month. It was awesome!
Elder Edwards and I get along great too! Elder Murray was great, but he was
super quiet. Elder Edwards is anything but. It's awesome!
We are teaching a lady named Libia right now. We will be
setting a baptismal date with her tomorrow. It'll be a weird lesson because we
are double booked so we are going on splits. Libia is primarily Spanish
speaking, but she wants the church to be a family thing and her children are
better off in the English Speaking Ward.
The Hermanas are coming with us to this lesson to plan the baptism, so
it's going to be me and two sisters... Don't worry, Libia's son Jesus will be
there as my companion, but it'll still be weird... I'm so excited for her to be
baptized. She's been meeting with missionaries for nearly a year now, so it's
about time! She finally has a strong testimony of the gospel.
We also met an older couple, the La Brakes. Brother La
Brake isn't a member, but his wife is active. We were just going through the
part member family list to see if we could find someone and we just happened to
run into them. We visited with them for a while. He told us all about his career as a salesman
and then as a prison guard. He said that
being a prison guard was the greatest thing ever. He worked graves and
didn't have to put up with anything crazy, because the convicts were asleep.
Elder Edwards saw that I have a few bull whips and really
wants to make one now. The other day I took him to the church parking lot and
let him crack it. He is a pro! He's a
total natural. I was impressed. Some people just can't figure out how to crack
one, but he did it on his fifth or sixth try. It was awesome!
I don't really have much time to email today, so sorry
for the quick one. My head is still hurting. I'll be going to the neurologist tomorrow to
see if anything came up on my MRI. I'll be really surprised if anything comes
up, but we will see. Have a great week everyone!
Love,
Elder Mullins
