Dear family and friends,
I don't have a ton of time to email today, so it'll be a
little bit short. I should have written this email first. Sorry... Anyway, not
a ton really happened this week. I am having a great time out here. I'm still getting
to know the area. It's a little difficult with being sick. I sleep a lot, so we
don't work as hard as I wish we did. I will be going to a specialist later in
the week or at the beginning of next week though, so hopefully they can figure
out what the heck is going on with my stupid head. We didn't have many lessons
or anything this week. I gave a talk in one of our wards’ sacrament meetings. I
was originally asked to speak for 15 minutes, but then later in the week they
called and told me I only needed to speak for 5-7. It went well. I was
surprised at how well I did. I usually write out my entire talk, but this time
I just wrote a quick outline of it, put a few quotes and scriptures in there,
and it went well from there. I had a lot of compliments. It's always nice when
people compliment you. I'm still not very good at public speaking, so I'm
pretty self-conscious when it comes to doing things like giving talks.
Elder Murray and I also gave the lesson in one of our wards’
Elders Quorums. It went really well. We gave it on the talk "The Pleasing
Word of God" by Elder Vinas. It must have been a good talk to give the
lesson on because we only made it through the first paragraph! It was pretty
good! I've never had a lesson teach itself like that one did. That was really
nice, especially considering I wasn't feeling totally prepared on it myself. I
don't know how prepared Elder Murray was either. All I can say is that that was
definitely a tender mercy of the Lord.
We also sang at the Christmas lights at the Mesa Temple on
Christmas day, so that was pretty cool! I hope you all had a great Christmas! I
know that I did! I played a lot of board games and ate a lot of food!
Not much else happened. Sorry it's so short. I'll hopefully
get a better one sent off next week. I love and miss you all!
Love,
Elder Mullins
