Numbers are Up!

Dear family and friends,

This week was a pretty good one. We got a new investigator and tripled my record for member present lessons in this area! We got 6!!! It was awesome! We also FINALLY got a new investigator! It's my first one since getting here. It's astounding how difficult it is to find in this area. I've never had such a hard time finding people to teach.  Everyone we teach sticks around forever, so it's not like there's nothing to do.  It's just really hard to get even more things to do. We seriously knock on door after door after door. We've cleared about 50 names out of our area book.  None of them have been interested, with the exception of the one we finally found.

On Monday evening we taught a girl named Katelynn. Her mom was going to sit in on the lesson but when we got there she said she wasn't feeling well. As we were teaching her daughter though, the spirit was really strong. About half way through the lesson her mom, Kelly, came into the room. Eventually she sat down and listened.  Today we will be following up on our commitment to Katelynn as to whether or not she prayed to see if she should be baptized. She's read the Book of Mormon a couple of times and she knows it is good, she just needs to gain a testimony of it. We'll see how it goes with her today! I'm excited for that lesson. Her mom became a new investigator too! So that was pretty awesome!

We taught quite a few lessons with members present as well. We taught our investigator, Bradley, about the Plan of Salvation which was awesome! We also taught our investigator, Josh, over at the Cox's.  They're a pretty awesome family! The two daughters, Lauren and Caitlin, are really good at finding people for us to teach. They have lots of non-member friends and aren't afraid to share the gospel with them. Lauren plans on going on a mission as well. She turns 19 at the end of the year, so she's pretty excited about that.

Not much else really happened. Elder Quist pulled out a 750 piece jigsaw puzzle, so we've been busy with that. I forgot how much I enjoy doing puzzles. It's been a fun few days. We already are about half done with it, but it's been good. Elder Quist usually just spreads all the pieces out and tries them one at a time, but I showed him the way I sort them and organize them and his mind has been blown.
SO much easier than the way he's always done it. It's been fun! Other than that not much outside of missionary work happened. Have a great week!

Love,

Elder Mullins
