Dear family and friends,
This week was a good one. They just keep going by faster
and faster. Yesterday morning I was getting
ready for church when all of a sudden I realized what getting ready for church
meant. --That tomorrow marks another week gone! Oh wow... Even when almost
nothing happens all week long it still goes by crazy quick. I love this area,
but everybody works which means that our afternoons consist of going around to
people's homes who are on endless lists that literally will never end because
they don't answer their doors because they're at work. From time to time we'll
get a door to open but they normally tell us they aren't interested. So the
afternoons are fun... Also it's the end of the school year so everything's
crazy and nobody is really available. We did however get to teach two lessons
this week.
The Hutchinson family is a member family who is returning
to activity. Brother Hutchinson has a
word of wisdom issue that he knows he needs to take care of, he just has to get
to a less stressful time of year before he's willing to give up smoking. He
says he's been temple worthy a few times for several months at a time, but
never was able to go to the temple to do baptisms for the dead. He's excited to
be able to do that. He also took us scorpion hunting. We found a few, so that
was pretty cool.
I finally met the last investigator I haven't met yet.
His name is Matthew and is 10 years old. He's a pretty cool kid. He has slight
special needs, so it's been a struggle to teach him. We decided this time to go
over the 10 commandments. I told Elder Ojala not to worry and that I'd be able
to keep his attention. I usually like to teach it with hand signals so it's
super easy to remember them all. By the end of the lesson his mom and dad were
super impressed because even Matthew could remember all of them! It was cool!
Not much else really happened this week. I hope you all have a great one! Love
you all!
Love,
Elder Mullins
