Dear family and friends,
This week was alright. I spent a lot of time sleeping,
but I'll try to think of some experiences we had this week. There were a couple of funny ones for sure! On Friday we had a zone training meeting which
went pretty well! I learned a lot from those that gave trainings. Afterwards we
went to lunch at Barro's Pizza. I love Barro's. There isn't one in Globe, so
this is the first time I've had it in about 7 months! At Barro's the Hermanas
(Spanish sisters) pulled out a bag and told Elder Murray that they had a
surprise for him. They opened it up and there was a big brownie in there and on
it was frosted, "Elder Murray! #Bye." They also put a couple of
candles that say '18' because at that point he only had 18 days left of his
mission. It was pretty great! I got a picture of him with it. I'll be sure to
send that one.
A couple of days ago we went to lunch at the Ellsworth's.
They fed us hamburgers and chips, and other great food. It was good. While we were eating, all of a
sudden Brother Ellsworth said, "There is a cat in our backyard." It
was intense! We looked and there was this fat, long-haired, gray cat traipsing
around. The Ellsworth's pool cover with the recent storms was destroyed and so
they have their cover constantly pulled in and rolled up. When it's rolled up
there's a little space underneath it in the cavity it rolls into. We watched
this cat jump down under the rolled up cover and into that space. The
Ellsworth's found it absolutely essential that that cat be removed from their
pool cover. We went outside, lifted the panel that covers it, and looked for
the cat. It was gone; nowhere to be seen. Brother Ellsworth had an idea to turn
the pool cover a couple of times just to make a little bit of noise. That cat
shot out of there quicker than a Samoan when he finds out there's a free all
you can eat buffet! Its legs were going a million miles an hour, but its body
was only moving about 5. It was so funny! It had NO grip on that metal cover.
Elder Murray tried to kick it into the pool, but he missed. Their dog took off
after it as it ran across the yard, but it was too slow unfortunately.
As far as medical stuff goes, nothing has been determined
yet. I'll be going to get some blood tests today. I'm also going to a counselor
to make sure depression isn't the cause. (I will be shocked if it is.) If those
don't bring any results I'll get an MRI, MRA, and EEG. I'll let you know when I
get any results. As of now though there's nothing going on really.
Have a great week!
Love,
Elder Mullins
From Mom* Jayden has had a constant headache on the right side of his head for several weeks now. The doctors did a CAT scan to make sure it wasn't a brain tumor or inflamed temporal artery, which would have required immediate surgery. Fortunately, that was ruled out. He's had neck adjustments and different medications that did not help at all. No matter how much sleep he gets he is exhausted. He sleeps 10 hours per night and has to take a nap in the afternoon to finish his evening work. Our extended family held a fast and many are praying for him. I have faith that the doctors will find a diagnosis and he will get well soon; however, I was not so sure a couple weeks ago. I was scared to death. I had a hard time sleeping until just a couple days ago. I suddenly feel peace and comfort. Heavenly Father is taking care of him. Please keep him in your prayers.
