Dear family and friends!
This has been a wonderful week for me! I'm really
enjoying every second of my mission. I've really been doing well. I'm
trying to take advantage of every single day I have as a missionary since I'm
over a third done already and it has FLOWN by!
Not much really happened on Monday or Tuesday, but
Wednesday was the most insane day of my whole mission I think! We got a phone call from one of our
investigators that morning saying we could come by and help her out with some
service at 11:00. So, at 11:00 we went over in our service clothes to help her
and her cousin out. When we pulled up there was an ambulance, a firetruck, and
six cops outside her park. Knowing that she had just been released from the
hospital about 36 hours previous, Elder Sweeten jokingly said something like,
"Please don't be our investigator..." We went to her trailer, and her cousin was
sitting there crying because it was her who went to the hospital. She had been cutting herself so her cousin
called the cops to get her to stop. Our
investigator (I'll just call her
Mary) called us about 15 minutes later telling us to come
to the hospital and visit with her and get her a little calmer. She isn't allowed to have any visitors other
than clergy, so we were allowed to visit her! There was this one lady in the
hospital that was furious! She was shouting as loud as she could at the nurses,
"I want water, chocolate milk, my granddaughter, my grandson, and my
grandfather!!! Where's your boss?" --Just freaking out! She was so furious that they had to handcuff
her to the bed. They eventually gave her a shot and knocked her out, but we
were all laughing pretty hard the whole time. We got her ( Mary) to go from
crying and being upset to happy and laughing and positive in the course of
about an hour and a half. We asked if there was anything we could do for her
and she told us that she needed some extra storage space. We called around and
got ahold of someone with a shed he would be willing to donate. We went and
checked it out. It was a 6x8 shed, but we needed some way to get it to Mary's
house. We called Stan and he volunteered to drive his truck around for us. Then
we called Brother Holyoak and asked to borrow his trailer. We got there and we
called a couple of other missionaries to help lift it. We got it all moved and
put back behind their house and everything. They were so happy about this shed!
They've got tons more space in their tiny little house now!
It's awesome!
I don't have much more time to write, but this week was
incredible! Every single day was just
like that one though! We were super busy the whole time. It was awesome! I love
my mission like crazy! I love the Lord, and I have been gaining a greater and
greater appreciation for him every single day! Search diligently, pray always,
and be believing, and all things shall work together for thy good. D&C

Elder Mullins
